To commemorate history, honor fallen heroes, and promote the spirit of the Long March while strengthening the national defense awareness of young league members, the Huazi Town Youth League Committee, together with the town's New Era Civilization Practice Center, organized a visit on September 18th. The group of party members and young league members traveled to the former residence of General Li Zhaolin in Houtun Village for a 9·18 National Defense Education activity themed "Carrying Forward the Great Long March Spirit, Uniting to Build a Strong National Defense."

During the event, participants entered the residence with reverence, exploring the main hall and the eastern and western wing rooms. They paused to examine precious historical artifacts and vivid photo displays, listening to accounts of General Li Zhaolin's life—from his youthful aspirations and decision to join the military, to leading anti-Japanese forces and ultimately sacrificing his life on the battlefield. This revisit to the past brought to life the arduous struggles of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army across the region's mountains and forests.

General Li Zhaolin, one of the founders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, devoted himself to the resistance movement following the September 18th Incident, fighting persistently on the front lines until he gave his life for national liberation. Through these moving stories of revolutionary forebears, participants gained a deep appreciation for the Long March spirit's core values—firm ideals, fearlessness in the face of sacrifice, and perseverance through hardship—thereby reinforcing their ideological commitment to building a strong national defense together.

This educational visit served as both a vivid lesson in national defense and patriotic education, and a profound spiritual cleansing. Participants unanimously expressed that they would follow the example of the revolutionary heroes, keep history and national humiliation in mind, remain vigilant in times of peace, and strive for progress. They pledged to carry forward the Long March spirit on the new journey of the era, transform their patriotism into concrete actions, and contribute their youthful energy to rural revitalization and the modernization of a strong socialist country.
