At the 2026 interim results conference held on August 28, CCB Vice President Tang Shuo highlighted that boosting consumption and expanding domestic demand are strategic moves for high-quality development. He noted that the official approval of the 15th Five-Year Plan for consumption expansion has created broad opportunities for commercial banks to grow their consumer finance businesses.
Tang emphasized that as a major state-owned bank, CCB will diligently implement the policy requirements outlined in the plan. The bank aims to continuously refine its consumer financial supply and deliver superior services to clients. First, it will actively execute a package of fiscal and financial policies designed to synergistically boost domestic demand, focusing on benefiting businesses and the public. By addressing both supply and demand sides, the bank will drive the effective implementation of these measures. In the first half of this year, CCB's interest subsidies for personal consumer loans and credit card installment plans exceeded 130 billion yuan, reaching more than 6 million customers.
Second, the bank will deepen its specialized consumer finance initiatives. It plans to participate actively in major consumption events organized by central and local governments, launching distinctive brands like "Joyful Holidays" and "Traveling Across China." The bank will also promote its "Home Life" and "Car Life" platforms, ramping up support for service consumption, goods consumption, and new types of consumption. Third, CCB will continue to enhance its consumer finance products and services, improving the ability to integrate with various scenarios. Leveraging its robust customer base and digital operational strengths, the bank will integrate into new consumption scenarios and business models, establishing a comprehensive credit service system that spans personal consumer loans, credit cards, and its consumer finance subsidiary. In the first half of the year, new consumer finance loans increased by 12.3 billion yuan year-on-year.
Regarding the plan's new policy that includes housing in the category of large-ticket durable consumer goods, Tang pointed out that housing finance is a traditional strength for CCB. The bank will actively promote the development of a new model for the real estate sector, carefully addressing the demand for new housing construction, existing housing markets, and affordable housing. This approach aims to better serve residents' rigid and improved housing needs while continuously fostering new growth momentum.
