According to production and sales data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers for July, vehicle exports reached 1.043 million units during the month, up 0.6% month-over-month and surging 81.3% year-over-year, marking the second straight month that exports have topped the one-million-unit threshold. Additionally, new energy vehicles accounted for over 60% of monthly new vehicle sales for the first time. For the January-to-July period, national vehicle production and sales totaled 17.567 million and 17.602 million units respectively, with the year-over-year decline narrowing further compared to the first half.
Meanwhile, the 29th Chengdu International Motor Exhibition is scheduled to take place from August 21 to 30, 2026, at the Western China International Expo City. As the first A-level auto show of the second half of the year, the event will bring together independent brands, luxury marques, mainstream joint ventures, and new energy vehicle manufacturers, showcasing the latest developments in electrification, intelligence, and premium positioning across China's auto industry.
