Power Construction Association Head Advocates Shift from Low-Cost Bidding to Quality-Focused Value Competition

Deep News06-02 13:50

Industry leaders are highlighting the dual challenges of capacity adjustment and technological breakthroughs. The energy sector in 2026 is undergoing a profound restructuring, with certain areas facing overcapacity pressures. However, the commercialization of technologies like BC batteries and perovskite tandem cells is accelerating, while new productive forces such as long-duration energy storage, green hydrogen, and green ammonia are rapidly emerging.

Initiating the Transition

The association will actively serve as a bridge to guide the industry away from the vicious cycle of competing on low-price bids and toward a value-based competition centered on high-quality construction. It will be dedicated to promoting the application of AI large language models and digital twin technology throughout the entire lifecycle of engineering projects. Through intelligent early warning systems and decision-making, the goal is to ensure that new energy power stations are not only built quickly and to a high standard but are also market-competitive and profitable.

Global Trends and Strategic Exports

The global energy transition is an overarching trend, yet it is accompanied by rising trade barriers and diverging technical standards. As a main force in Belt and Road construction, Chinese power construction enterprises should not only export photovoltaic products but also promote China's advanced power construction standards, project management models, and smart operation solutions.

About the Association

The association is a 5A-level social organization as assessed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and is recognized as a national advanced social organization. It holds a unique position as the only entity in the power industry with the authority to recommend projects for the National High-Quality Engineering Award. Furthermore, it is authorized by the National Office for Science and Technology Awards to establish the Power Construction Science and Technology Progress Award. Its scope of operations essentially covers all fields and the entire industrial chain of power construction.
