Data released by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on Wednesday showed that supply chain pressures in April reached their highest level since July 2022, as conflicts in the Middle East severely impacted companies' ability to transport goods freely worldwide.

The Global Supply Chain Pressure Index surged to 1.82 in April, up significantly from 0.68 in March. The New York Fed did not provide any explanation for the factors driving the increase. The index had previously reached 1.86 in July 2022.
