United Imaging Chairman Xue Min: Medical Equipment Sector Faces High Monopoly, Single-Product Strategy Hinders Brand Building

Deep News07-03

From July 3rd to 4th, the 2026 Yabuli Forum Innovation Annual Meeting was held in Shanghai. The theme of this year's Innovation Annual Meeting was "Innovation-Driven, Intelligence Ignites the Future—The 15th Five-Year Plan Blueprint and Enterprise Opportunities".

United Imaging Chairman Xue Min, speaking at the Great Health Forum, stated that running a business requires avoiding short-term gains and maintaining composure. It demands long-term vision, the patience to endure solitude, and the courage to face challenges head-on rather than circumventing them.

"In our industry, you cannot rely on a single product," he said. "I have always believed that it is very difficult for the medical equipment sector to grow strong and large with just one product. A single product struggles to shake up the existing industry structure because this sector is severely monopolized. It is very hard to build a brand based on a single product."

He pointed out that enterprises must have long-term goals, identify their correct commercial strategies, and also focus on brand building. Independent innovation is essential, and making excellent products is paramount, but building the brand must also be done well. In summary, entrepreneurship involves all flavors—sweet, bitter, spicy, and sour—and starting a business is never easy. For the many young entrepreneurs present, since they have chosen the path of entrepreneurship, they must persevere.
