After two years, Zheng Gang, Executive Vice President of the Nanjing New Social Stratum Association, participated in the service inspection series "Retracing the Long March, Forging Ahead on a New Journey—'Nanjing Good Friends' Guizhou Tour" and returned to the Jinyinshan Academy in Hezhang County, Guizhou Province. This place has now become the "cultural living room" for the community of relocated residents.
"The people's thirst for knowledge makes us firmly believe that stories of 'knowledge changing destinies' will continue to unfold," Zheng Gang remarked with emotion.
The Jinyinshan Academy, established with a donation of 2.3 million yuan from the 17th Branch of the National New Social Stratum Service Corps, was officially put into use in July 2024. As the main donor of the project, Zheng Gang hopes to move beyond the traditional aid model of "donating funds to build structures." He aims to explore and build a long-term assistance pathway centered on "public welfare as the foundation, culture as the guide, and technology as the support," helping the local area achieve a transition from "material poverty alleviation" to "spiritual enrichment."
As one of the events in this service inspection series, the "New Goodness China·Reading to See Civilization" themed activity was officially launched at the Jinyinshan Academy on the 6th. Nanjing Jinchuang Book City donated high-quality books to the Jinyinshan Academy, and the two parties established a friendly co-reading partnership. The Nanjing New Social Stratum Association and the Nanjing Internet Association jointly built a "One-Meter Study" with Luojiaba Community and held an unveiling ceremony, creating a new reading space for children and teenagers.
Facilitated by Yue Lei, President of the Nanjing New Social Stratum Association, the Golden Eagle Group conducted a special assistance donation to the Hezhang County Children's Welfare Home, transmitting warmth through compassion.
A relevant official from the Bijie Municipal Committee United Front Work Department stated that the academy regularly hosts various activities such as themed exchanges and public welfare practices, which have brought new social stratum individuals closer to the local populace, continuously fostering a consensus of "united hearts towards goodness."
"The Jinyinshan Academy is a vivid example of new social stratum individuals serving at the grassroots level and assisting in rural revitalization," said a relevant official from the Nanjing Municipal Committee United Front Work Department. They look forward to the two regions regularly conducting activities like shared reading salons, cultural lectures, and youth reading exchanges. By leveraging online and offline联动 to disseminate红色 culture, they aim to let the fragrance of books permeate the community and use cultural soft power to solidify the foundation of grassroots governance.
