BBC Admits Documentary Editing Error, Trump Threatens Legal Action

Deep News11-10

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) stated on Monday that it had received a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump threatening legal action over a documentary aired one week before the U.S. presidential election.

The BBC acknowledged that the editing of Trump’s speech in the documentary created a misleading impression and should have been handled more carefully.

The documentary, broadcast last year, spliced together two parts of a Trump speech, making it appear as though he was encouraging the January 2021 Capitol riot.

BBC Chairman Samir Shah said the corporation is "considering" how to respond to Trump’s letter.

When asked whether Trump would actually sue the BBC, Shah remarked, "I don’t know yet, but he is a litigious person, so we should be prepared for all outcomes."
