The Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology has officially announced the list of approved projects under the 2026 Shandong Provincial Key R&D Plan (Competitive Innovation Platforms).

A project led by Ocean University of China, with participation from Qingdao Water Group Seawater Desalination Baifa Company and the 725th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation's Qingdao Branch, has successfully secured funding. The project is titled "Design and Synthesis of Multifunctional Polymers with Tunable Hydrophilicity and Antimicrobial/Anti-Algae Properties, and Their Application in Materials for Marine Resource Development and Utilization."
