Prosecutors in Guizhou Province have formally initiated legal proceedings against Ding Xiongjun, former Party Secretary and Chairman of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., on charges of accepting bribes and money laundering. The case, investigated and concluded by the Guizhou Provincial Supervisory Commission, has been transferred to prosecutors for review and prosecution. Under the designation of the Guizhou Provincial People's Procuratorate, the Qiandongnan Prefecture People's Procuratorate has filed the case with the Qiandongnan Prefecture Intermediate People's Court. The judicial process is currently ongoing.
During the review and prosecution phase, the procuratorial authorities informed the defendant, Ding Xiongjun, of his litigation rights in accordance with the law, conducted interrogations, and considered the opinions of his defense counsel. The Qiandongnan Prefecture People's Procuratorate alleges that Ding Xiongjiang exploited his positions—including roles such as Standing Committee Member and Vice Mayor of Qingzhen City, Guiyang; Party Secretary and Director of the Lianghu Yiku Administration Bureau; Party Secretary of the Guiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone; Party Secretary of Baiyun District, Guiyang; Secretary-General of the Guiyang Municipal People's Government; Standing Committee Member and Vice Mayor of Bijie City; Party Secretary and Director of the Guizhou Provincial Energy Bureau; and Party Secretary and Chairman of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd.—to provide benefits to others and illegally accept substantial amounts of money and property. He is also accused of concealing the origin and nature of portions of these illicit gains, constituting severe offenses. The charges brought against him are bribery and money laundering.
