Nanjing kicked off the first session of its "1026" industry lecture series for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the afternoon of July 30, focusing on artificial intelligence (software and information services) at the Nanjing Science and Technology Museum's International Academic Report Hall, with over 100 companies in attendance.

Organized by the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Nanjing Science and Technology Association, with the Nanjing Science and Technology Museum as the host, the series plans to hold 10 sessions from late July to late September, targeting 10 key industries in Nanjing, including artificial intelligence (software), smart grids, and robotics.

The lecture series adopts a "1+1+1+N" structure, which includes: one industry development lecture, one batch of leading enterprise promotions, one specialized and new enterprise cultivation training session, and one set of multi-dimensional services such as public service platform introductions, supply chain support, and financial services. University professors and industry experts are invited to deliver lectures on industrial development. Leaders from chain-leading and dominant enterprises will present their future development plans to help SMEs understand and access more market opportunities. The sessions will also cover policies related to the cultivation of specialized and new enterprises, based on the newly revised "Management Measures for the Gradient Cultivation of High-Quality SMEs" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Additionally, multi-dimensional services like public service platform promotions, supply chain business, financial investment services, and corporate science popularization scenarios will be organized.

The first lecture, focusing on AI (software and information services), featured a keynote speech by a representative from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology's AI Research Institute's Platform and Engineering Department, covering AI agent technology and its application development. A leading national-level software company, Jiangsu Hollysys Software Co., Ltd., highlighted its future development plans for "open-source HarmonyOS + intelligent agents" and introduced the application scenarios and development trends of open-source HarmonyOS across industries such as industry, electricity, finance, education, and healthcare.

Attendee representatives noted that the lecture was rich in content, combining professionalism and practicality, helping them understand the development trends and application scenarios of AI more deeply. It enabled them to clarify future directions through learning and reflection, and to explore practical pathways for the integration, collaboration, and symbiotic development of large and small enterprises.

In recent years, Nanjing has implemented a strategy to strengthen its industrial base, coordinating the upgrade of traditional industries, the expansion of emerging industries, and the cultivation of future industries. This has accelerated the construction of the "1026" advanced manufacturing cluster system, which includes 10 industry clusters and 26 key industrial chains. Leveraging the "1+4+6" industrial breakthrough mechanism, Nanjing has established four dedicated industrial breakthrough offices for AI (software), robotics, biomedicine, and new-generation information and communication, mobilizing the city's resources to drive breakthroughs in key industries.

The city's emerging industries are showing strong momentum, with four national-level advanced manufacturing clusters under development. The trillion-yuan software industry and the 500-billion-yuan smart grid industry are thriving. Nanjing has also received multiple national-level pilot demonstrations, including for vehicle-road-cloud integration, Beidou-scale applications, 5G + industrial internet, and digital transformation of SMEs. The city's total industrial output value above a designated size exceeds 1.65 trillion yuan.

A representative from the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology said that SMEs are the capillaries and vitality foundation of Nanjing's modern industrial system. They serve as a "new force" for stabilizing the economic fundamentals and driving high-quality development, a "reservoir" for absorbing employment and ensuring people's livelihood stability, and a key force for strengthening, supplementing, and extending industrial chains, as well as cultivating new quality productive forces. The hope is that this lecture series will guide more SMEs to focus on industrial development, integrate into industrial breakthroughs, and jointly contribute to high-quality advancement.
