U.S. Tightens Export Controls Targeting China's Chip Sector; Commerce Ministry Responds

Deep News06-04 19:02

The United States has once again invoked China as a justification for its trade policies, ordering the closure of what it terms "regulatory loopholes" to prevent the export of advanced semiconductors to Chinese companies. How has China's Ministry of Commerce responded to this move?

At a regular press conference held today, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce, He Yongqian, addressed inquiries regarding the U.S. Department of Commerce's actions to block these alleged chip-related loopholes. The spokesperson stated that in recent years, the U.S. has persistently abused export controls under the pretext of national security. These actions have severely infringed upon the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, seriously undermined the international economic and trade order, and caused significant disruption to the stability of the global semiconductor industry chain and supply chain. China has consistently opposed such measures.

China urges the United States to promptly correct its erroneous practices, cease its discriminatory measures against China, and work to maintain the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
