Q Technology (Group) Company Limited (Q Tech) reported a solid uptick in its core camera-module business for April 2026, while biological recognition volumes were mixed. Management released the unaudited operating data on 8 May 2026 as a voluntary update for investors.
Mobile phone camera modules totaled 41.90 million units in April, advancing 7.7% month-on-month (MoM) and 31.8% year-on-year (YoY). Growth was driven by overseas demand and continued market-share gains. Shipments of sub-32-megapixel modules almost doubled YoY to 25.90 million units (+91.3%), offsetting a 12.3% YoY decline in ≥32-megapixel modules, which nonetheless rose 14.8% MoM.
Camera modules and LiDAR for non-handset applications delivered 2.07 million units, essentially flat MoM (-1.5%) but up 42.8% YoY on stronger orders from Internet-of-Things and smart-vehicle customers. Aggregating handset and non-handset segments, total camera-module and LiDAR shipments reached 43.96 million units, up 7.2% MoM and 32.3% YoY.
Biological recognition modules recorded a 15.2% MoM rebound to 16.56 million units, reflecting customer project cycles. Within the mix, capacitive units surged 12.2% MoM and 57.5% YoY to 8.57 million, ultrasonic units climbed 19.3% MoM and 27.5% YoY to 3.21 million, while under-glass shipments halved YoY to 4.78 million despite an 18.0% MoM increase. The overall Bio-ID category contracted 5.5% YoY.
Cumulative January–April 2026 volumes stood at 154.40 million mobile phone camera modules, 8.18 million non-handset camera/LiDAR units and 61.18 million biological recognition modules.
Kunshan Q Tech Microelectronics (India) Private Limited, the group’s joint venture, shipped 4.47 million camera modules in April, down 42.9% MoM but up 37.2% YoY. Bio-recognition modules declined 15.4% MoM and 8.7% YoY to 1.92 million units.
