Xiaomi Corporation, a prominent member of the World Internet Conference, recently held a major product launch event in Beijing, unveiling its new "Human x Car x Home" ecosystem. The event marked the official debut of the new Xiaomi YU7 family, which introduces two main models: the YU7 GT and the YU7 Standard Edition.
Also launched were the Xiaomi 17 Max smartphone, clip-on earphones, the Band 10 Pro, and several new smart home appliances.
The Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany, often referred to as the "Green Hell," is widely regarded in the automotive industry as the ultimate proving ground for top-tier car manufacturers. Its challenging track surface features significant elevation changes and numerous bumps, including high-speed jumps and continuous crests. Competing on this circuit rigorously tests a vehicle's stability under extreme conditions and hones its performance through various types of corners.
Equipped with the optional professional track package, the Xiaomi YU7 GT set a new lap record for SUVs at the Nürburgring, completing the circuit in 7 minutes and 22.755 seconds. This impressive time surpasses the previous record by a substantial 14 seconds.
The achievement of the YU7 GT is attributed to its advanced powertrain, chassis, and braking systems. For power, the vehicle is equipped with Xiaomi's next-generation Super Electric Motor V8s EVO, which boasts a maximum rotational speed of 28,000 rpm and a peak power output of 450 kW.
This is paired with a front-mounted V6s Plus motor, creating a dual-motor system with a combined maximum power of 738 kW, equivalent to 1,003 horsepower. This configuration enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.92 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h.
For handling, the YU7 GT utilizes the Xiaomi Jiaolong Chassis Master Edition, which was fine-tuned with deep involvement from technical experts at Xiaomi's European R&D center.
The braking system features the same track-level configuration found in the Ultra model, incorporating Akebono front six-piston and rear four-piston high-performance brake calipers paired with oversized carbon-ceramic brake discs. This setup achieves a braking distance of only 32.9 meters from 100 km/h to a complete stop and can perform 10 consecutive emergency stops from 180 km/h without any performance fade.
Xiaomi has stated its commitment to continuously creating an advanced lifestyle through its cutting-edge technological products and intelligent ecosystem. The company is accelerating the implementation of its "Human x Car x Home" full ecosystem strategy to build a formidable moat in the smart ecosystem landscape.
