Following the established pricing mechanism for refined oil products, the next adjustment window is scheduled for midnight this Thursday, September 24th. As of September 22nd, the new pricing cycle has entered its 8th working day, with the crude oil change rate falling sharply from 10.05% on September 21st to 9.32%. Consequently, the projected retail price increase for gasoline and diesel has been revised down from 580 yuan per tonne to 540 yuan per tonne, translating to an expected rise of 0.41 to 0.49 yuan per liter.
For a standard 50-liter fuel tank, motorists can anticipate paying approximately 20.5 to 24.5 yuan more for a full refill. Below are several fuel-saving tips worth keeping in mind for the days ahead.
Maintain steady driving speeds and avoid sudden acceleration or braking, as aggressive driving can significantly increase fuel consumption. Additionally, ensure your vehicle's tires are properly inflated, since under-inflated tires create more rolling resistance and force the engine to work harder.
Reduce unnecessary idling whenever possible. If you expect to be stationary for more than a minute, it is often more efficient to turn off the engine rather than leave it running. Also, remove excess weight from your trunk or cabin, as carrying heavy items directly impacts fuel efficiency.
Use air conditioning judiciously. At highway speeds, open windows create aerodynamic drag that increases fuel usage, so using the AC system may actually be more efficient. Conversely, at lower speeds, rolling down the windows is typically the better option.
The final adjustment amount for this round will be officially confirmed and announced by the National Development and Reform Commission. Stay tuned for the official figures to plan your refueling schedule accordingly.
