For years, the true identity of Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto has remained a subject of intense interest within the technology sector.
Recently, British cryptographer and Blockstream CEO Adam Back posted on the X platform denying that he is Satoshi Nakamoto. However, Back acknowledged his long-standing focus on cryptography, online privacy, and the positive societal impact of electronic cash.
An investigation led by a journalist from The New York Times previously indicated that Back had outlined nearly all characteristics of Bitcoin a decade before Satoshi Nakamoto in a series of little-known emails. The investigation also revealed that during the two and a half years when Nakamoto was frequently posting online, Back almost vanished from forums discussing Bitcoin, only reappearing shortly after Nakamoto disappeared in 2011. Furthermore, the investigation noted remarkable similarities between Back's and Nakamoto's online posts and emails.
