Heilongjiang Unicom Strengthens Communication Network for May Day Holiday

Deep News05-01

As the May Day holiday approaches, the demand for communication services among users has increased significantly. In key areas such as popular tourist attractions and transportation hubs across Heilongjiang Province, communication traffic has surged sharply. To ensure smooth communication services during the holiday period, Heilongjiang Unicom has made advance preparations, relying on big data analysis to implement precise strategies and solidly carry out communication support work for the May Day holiday.

It is reported that Heilongjiang Unicom has collaborated with its local branches and equipment manufacturers to form a dedicated network support team. Using historical holiday communication operation data and big data analytics, the team conducted comprehensive "health checks" on core scenarios. This allowed them to forecast peak network traffic periods, high-risk areas, and potential issues in advance, leading to the implementation of measures such as cell capacity expansion and signal coverage enhancement.

In densely populated areas, Heilongjiang Unicom completed the expansion of 226 4G/5G cells ahead of time and increased uplink bandwidth and scheduling support for 109 key cells. Additionally, the company implemented real-time monitoring of mobile network quality at 93 critical locations, effectively managing traffic surges and ensuring that daily communication needs—such as photo-taking, live streaming, and QR code payments—are met smoothly.

For major transportation arteries and key travel routes, the technical team conducted on-site drive tests along the Beijing-Harbin High-Speed Railway and Beijing-Harbin Expressway. They also performed minimal drive test analysis and optimization on other high-speed railways, expressways, and national highways. A total of 92 cells along transportation corridors were optimized, with total test mileage exceeding 1,000 kilometers. These efforts eliminated signal dead zones and areas of weak coverage, continuously improving the quality of mobile network signals.
