Fed Chair Kevin Warsh said his productivity and employment task force will hold an on-the-ground hearing in the San Francisco Bay Area next month.
Speaking during a moderated discussion on Friday morning in Bangkok on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund annual meetings, Warsh announced the hearing would take place on November 16.
Warsh said the task force will "get to work on" a range of issues, including the economic impact of artificial intelligence.
Warsh established five task forces made up of outside experts in June to examine key areas of monetary policy making. He has said he expects the task forces to submit recommendations to the Fed around the end of this year.
Warsh did not comment on monetary policy or his outlook for the U.S. economy.
