Guangdong's Luoding City Advances Rapid Food Safety Testing with Digital Systems

To fully implement requirements for rapid testing of edible agricultural products, a key public welfare initiative, and ensure that by 2026 all operating retail markets in the city are covered by the testing program, the Market Supervision Administration of Luoding City in Guangdong Province recently held a special working meeting with the Market Property Management Center. The meeting focused on promoting the application of Guangdong Province's edible agricultural product market sales supervision system and improving data collection. The session aimed to strengthen coordination among the Market Supervision Administration, the Market Property Management Center, and Yi'an Asset Resource Operation Co., Ltd., accelerating the registration and use of the supervision system. According to higher-level department plans, starting in 2026, rapid testing of edible agricultural products must achieve full quarterly coverage. All markets will be required to use the provincial system to enter or establish information on vendors, improve electronic records, and facilitate the upload of testing data. In the next phase, each market will designate dedicated personnel to operate and manage the provincial system platform. They will complete the establishment of vendor files, sign quality and safety agreements, and carry out entry inspections, on-site checks, and information disclosures through the system. This digital advancement will provide robust data support for supervising the quality and safety of edible agricultural products sold in the city's markets, effectively ensuring the safety of residents' "vegetable baskets."
