Japanese stocks opened lower amid persistent concerns over rising energy and material costs, as tensions in the Middle East continue. Metal, electronics, and technology shares led the decline. JX Advanced Metals fell 2.5%, International Electric dropped 6.5%, and SoftBank Group declined 5.8%. The Nikkei 225 index fell 1% to 59,923.58, while the broader Topix index also dropped 1% to 3,812.05.
