Stock News08-14

MTR CORPORATION (00066) shares surged more than 4% during the trading session, and as of the time of writing, were up 3.16% to HK$33.34, with a trading volume of HK$242 million.

The company reported first-half 2025 revenue of HK$26.231 billion, a 3.1% decrease year-on-year. Net profit attributable to shareholders soared 105.9% to HK$15.872 billion, driven primarily by a HK$12.233 billion profit from Hong Kong property development, which came mainly from the Tai Wai Station and the "South Island Line" Phase 5 projects. The company declared an interim dividend of HK$0.42 per share.

Recurring business profit saw a slight increase to HK$3.434 billion, compared to HK$3.391 billion in the same period last year. This growth was mainly attributed to higher contributions from mainland China and international operations, partially offset by increased depreciation and annual non-recurring charges in Hong Kong operations.
