Gold Prices Decline as Investors Anticipate Federal Reserve Meeting Minutes

Deep News08:58

Gold prices declined during the Asian trading session. In commentary from Hola Prime, Somesh Kapuria noted that after several consecutive sessions of gains, the price of the yellow metal could be at risk, pointing out that gold has been in a downtrend since the start of the year. He added that a strengthening US dollar could also pressure the precious metal. He further stated that the minutes from this week's US Federal Open Market Committee meeting could be crucial in shaping the near-term direction of bond yields, which in turn would influence gold. Spot gold fell 0.4% to $4,149.79 per ounce.
