Kuaishou Technology Issues 19,666 New Shares and Buys Back 0.82 Million Shares on 18 September 2026

Bulletin Express09-18

Kuaishou Technology, the Hong Kong-listed short-video platform operator with a weighted-voting-rights (WVR) structure, has reported marginal changes to its share capital following employee option exercises and an ongoing buy-back programme.

On 18 September 2026 the company allotted 19,666 new Class B WVR ordinary shares under its 6 February 2018 pre-IPO employee incentive scheme. The shares were issued at an exercise price of HKD 0.3273 each, expanding the Class B share count by 0.0005%. Total issued share capital (Class A + Class B) rose to 4.33 billion shares, up from 4.33 billion on 17 September.

Concurrently, Kuaishou repurchased 815,000 Class B shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at prices ranging from HKD 30.54 to HKD 30.78, for an aggregate consideration of HKD 24.99 million (average HKD 30.66 per share). These securities are designated for cancellation.

The 18 September purchase lifted the tally of shares bought for cancellation but not yet cancelled—executed between 20 August and 18 September—to 23.73 million, equivalent to 0.55% of the company’s pre-event issued share base. Weighted-average repurchase prices over the period ranged between HKD 29.70 and HKD 33.98 per share.

Under the general mandate approved on 25 June 2026, Kuaishou may repurchase up to 432.69 million shares. To date, the company has acquired 36.03 million shares (0.83% of its share capital at the mandate date), leaving capacity for a further 396.67 million shares. In line with Hong Kong listing rules, Kuaishou is now subject to a 30-day moratorium—through 18 October 2026—on any new share issues or treasury share sales following the latest buy-back.

Post-transaction, Kuaishou’s issued share capital comprises 3.66 billion Class B shares and 0.66 billion Class A shares. All newly issued shares rank pari passu with existing Class B stock, and the company confirms full compliance with Hong Kong Stock Exchange rules and relevant regulations.
