Venture Capital Firms Compete to Invest in Anthropic with Valuations Soaring to $800 Billion

Deep News04-15

According to multiple informed sources, Anthropic, the startup behind Claude, has received multiple investment offers from venture capital firms in recent weeks, valuing the company as high as $800 billion. This valuation more than doubles its most recent figure. Highly sought-after startups often receive unsolicited, early-stage offers from investors, which they frequently decline. Nevertheless, the valuation levels proposed by VC firms reflect a near-frenzied demand in Silicon Valley to acquire a stake in Anthropic as the company prepares for a potential IPO later this year. A spokesperson for Anthropic declined to comment. In February of this year, Anthropic completed a funding round led by GIC and Coatue, which valued the company at $380 billion. That figure was less than half of OpenAI's $852 billion valuation from its funding round last month.
