A lockout affecting approximately 1,000 workers in Norway's oil service sector was implemented on Saturday morning, following the enactment of previously announced escalation measures by employers. The action is expected to disrupt drilling operations and some production activities on the Norwegian continental shelf.
The lockout was announced in response to an ongoing strike by hundreds of members of the "Safe" union. It will impact multiple companies, including SLB, Halliburton, Subsea 7 (SUB.OL), DOF Subsea, Weatherford, DeepOcean, and Baker Hughes, as stated by the Norwegian Offshore Industries Association (Offshore Norway) on Friday.
