Hong Kong – 13 August 2026 – China Southern Airlines Company Limited (CHINA SOUTH AIR) has obtained conditional approval from the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) for its proposed issuance of up to 5.44 billion new A shares to no more than 35 specific investors, including controlling shareholder China Southern Air Holding (CSAH).
The SSE’s “Exchange Review Opinion Regarding the Issuance of Shares to Specific Investors by China Southern Airlines Company Limited” confirms that the application fulfils listing, issuance and disclosure requirements. Following this confirmation, the SSE will submit the application to the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) for final registration.
Implementation of the private placement remains contingent upon CSRC registration, and the company cautions that timing and approval are still uncertain. China Southern Airlines states it will release timely updates as the process advances.
The board urges shareholders and potential investors to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares and to remain alert to investment risks.
