The "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Blue Book: Report on Manufacturing Development (2025)", jointly released by Beijing University of Technology and Social Sciences Academic Press, highlights that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has become a vital base for China's new energy and smart connected vehicle industry.
According to the report, the region's total automobile production reached 2.85 million units in 2024, marking an 11.8% year-on-year increase. Notably, new energy vehicle output surged 154% to 676,000 units, leading the nation in industrial scale. The combined automotive industry output value exceeded 840 billion yuan, making it the top manufacturing sector in the region.
The report details differentiated development strategies: Beijing focuses on market-driven transformation of traditional automakers to create leading new energy vehicle brands; Tianjin promotes the shift toward electrification, intelligence, and connectivity while cultivating ecosystem-leading new energy vehicle manufacturers and attracting major players to establish production bases; Hebei coordinates with Beijing and Tianjin to map industrial chains, laying a solid foundation for future collaborative development.
The blue book also notes robust growth in the region's manufacturing supply chains, forming a multi-chain collaborative pattern. A gradient cooperation model has emerged in the new energy storage sector, featuring "Beijing innovation - Tianjin materials - Hebei manufacturing + application scenarios".
Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the report suggests the region should leverage its coordinated development strategy, concentrate on dominant industries, integrate innovation resources, and build a globally competitive modern industrial system through deep supply chain collaboration and comprehensive digital transformation.
