Yemen Resumes Crude Oil Shipments After Export Halt

Deep News06:20

The Chairman of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, announced on July 20 that the country will resume its oil exports effective immediately.

The revenue generated from these sales will be allocated towards paying salaries, enhancing public services, fostering economic stability, and ensuring the nation's resources benefit all citizens.

In his statement, Al-Alimi affirmed that the government would implement all required measures to reinstate oil exports and safeguard economic stability.

Additionally, Al-Alimi accused the Houthi rebels of dragging Yemen into regional conflicts and once more urged residents in Houthi-controlled areas to support national reconstruction efforts.

Yemen's crude exports were halted in October 2022 following a series of attacks by Houthi forces on government-controlled oil export terminals and related infrastructure, which severely impacted state revenues.
