China Construction Bank participated in a range of key activities held during the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo, which formally opened on September 17 in Nanning, Guangxi. China Construction Bank Corporation Vice President Lei Ming attended the opening ceremony by invitation and subsequently took part in the "2026 China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Forum" on September 18. During the forum, he delivered remarks centered on the theme "AI Empowering Financial Cooperation" and also joined the launch event for the "ShuBiDa·LiFu Service" platform.

Throughout the forum proceedings, Lei Ming addressed matters concerning AI's application in cross-border finance and the promotion of regional financial collaboration. He pointed out that cross-border trade presents distinct pain points stemming from differences in currencies, customs clearance protocols, tax systems, and legal frameworks, while also facing considerable shifts in global trade conditions and tax policies. The convergence of artificial intelligence with financial services offers effective countermeasures to these challenges, introducing new opportunities and avenues for growth. Banks are leveraging intelligent decision-making and multimodal technologies to enhance the efficiency and quality of documentation processing. AI agent technology empowers enterprises to maintain real-time awareness of policy shifts and market dynamics, while innovative tools and applications—such as digital RMB and the ShuBiDa service platform—are driving the integrated flow of capital, goods, and information, achieving a seamless "three-stream unification." Concurrently, these new technologies also give rise to challenges in areas like cross-border anti-money laundering and privacy security, necessitating enhanced cooperation and exchange among nations, as well as among government entities, financial institutions, and corporations, to jointly develop effective solutions.

Lei Ming further articulated CCB's strategy, centered on "three integrations," to help Guangxi serve as a bridge linking China's fintech capabilities with the demands of ASEAN markets. The first integration is capacity integration, which involves transferring matured innovations to Guangxi and the wider ASEAN region. CCB has established an AI innovation laboratory in Guangxi, leveraging research strengths from major hubs like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen to elevate cross-border financial services for Guangxi and ASEAN to unprecedented levels. The second is scenario integration, which entails strengthening both domestic and international collaboration to bring more application scenarios to life in ASEAN markets. Notably, CCB has continuously hosted the China-Malaysia Enterprise Cooperation Matchmaking Conference for eight consecutive years, establishing it as a vital platform facilitating exchange and partnerships between businesses from both nations. The third is ecosystem integration, which fosters close partnerships among governments, enterprises, financial institutions, and end customers, working jointly to cultivate a regional intelligent financial ecosystem. This collaboration focuses on enabling greater cross-border data flows, advancing digital RMB adoption, and nurturing shared talent pools.

Held annually during the China-ASEAN Expo since 2009, the China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Forum has progressively evolved into a significant platform for exchange and collaboration between the financial sectors of China and ASEAN countries. It has played an instrumental role in fostering financial consensus, smoothing financial market operations, and deepening financial cooperation between China and ASEAN member states. Representatives from CCB's head office International Business Department, the Digital RMB Promotion Office, and the Guangxi Branch attended the related events.
