Nanning Market Regulator Intensifies Online Transaction Monitoring

From January 5th, the Nanning Municipal Market Supervision Administration reported that during the fourth quarter of 2025, it conducted a special monitoring campaign targeting online transactions by platform enterprises and their operators within its jurisdiction. The operation monitored a cumulative total of 50,098 instances of e-commerce operators with shipping origins in Nanning, covering 2,574,863 product listings, and identified 55 leads suspected of violating laws and regulations.

Between October 1 and December 31, 2025, the Nanning Municipal Market Supervision Administration carried out special monitoring of online transactions on platforms including Taobao, Taobao Flash Sales, Douyin, Meituan, JD.com, Dianping, Xiaohongshu, Tmall, Huaxia Yihao Mall, and Jindao Enterprise Services. The monitored product categories encompassed food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, kitchen stoves, electric bicycles, and more.

Analysis of platform distribution revealed that the suspected illegal and non-compliant leads were primarily concentrated on platforms such as Taobao, Taobao Flash Sales, Douyin, Meituan, JD.com, Dianping, and Xiaohongshu. The suspected violations mainly included selling gas appliances without 3C certification, illegal modification of electric bicycles, irregularities in food qualifications, expired or cancelled registration information for general cosmetics, failing to specify the duration of promotional activities, product pages not displaying medical device registration certificates or filing vouchers, non-standard patent labeling, food products advertised with medical efficacy, online drug sellers failing to display licenses as required, selling fire protection products without 3C certification, illegal advertising for infant formula, imported cosmetics lacking Chinese labels, and illegal advertising for education and training services.

A relevant official from the Nanning Municipal Market Supervision Administration stated that on-site verification will be conducted for the aforementioned suspected illegal and non-compliant leads, followed by handling according to laws and regulations.

Moving forward, market supervision authorities will continue to intensify special monitoring of online transactions, constantly enhancing the precision and intelligence of oversight.
