US Stocks Open Lower on Thursday; AMC Plunges 18%; APE Soars 75%

Stock fell Thursday as a year-end selloff returned to Wall Street following a brief respite this week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 258 points or 0.77%. S&P 500 futures declined 0.98%, while the Nasdaq Composite was 1.35% lower.

AMC Entertainment Holdings said on Thursday it would raise $110 million in new equity capital through the sale of its preferred stock, sending the cinema chain's shares down about 18%. Antara Capital will buy APE at an average price of 66 cents per share. APE shares surged about 75%.
