Beginning April 12, certain internet users, without factual basis or official sources, publicly fabricated and disseminated false information claiming "Wang Shi has been arrested." This spawned a series of malicious rumors, including assertions that he was "being held accountable for operational losses at China Vanke Co.,Ltd." and "missing and involved in criminal proceedings." These claims rapidly spread across the internet, trended on social media, and were widely circulated, severely infringing upon Wang Shi's reputation and misleading the public.
The statement clarifies three key points: First, the claim that "Wang Shi has been arrested" is entirely false and maliciously fabricated. As of the statement's release, Wang Shi remains free without any restrictions and continues his normal work and daily life. There are no circumstances where judicial authorities have taken compulsory measures against him.
Second, Wang Shi resigned as Chairman of the Board of China Vanke Co.,Ltd. in June 2017 and no longer participates in the company's daily operations. Linking Vanke's operational performance to him and creating rumors about accountability are baseless and defamatory.
Third, all unsubstantiated speculation and slander regarding Wang Shi's health, private life, or other personal matters are completely untrue.
The legal team has completed evidence collection regarding all infringing content and has initiated comprehensive legal proceedings, combining civil and criminal actions, to hold all rumor creators and spreaders fully accountable under the law. The statement also demands that relevant online platforms immediately fulfill their responsibilities by removing, blocking, or limiting the spread of the involved rumors.
