GCL TECH's Zhu Gongshan: Old Growth Models Are Gone, "Can't Just Endure," Entrepreneurs Must Persist in Innovation

Deep News12-09

From December 5th to 7th, the "2025 (23rd) China Entrepreneur Influence Annual Conference" (formerly known as the China Enterprise Leaders Summit) was held in Beijing under the theme "Emergence·Infinity—Co-Creating New Forms of Intelligent Business." Zhu Gongshan, Chairman of the Global Green Energy Council, President of the Asia Photovoltaic Industry Association, and founder of GCL TECH, attended and delivered a speech.

Zhu Gongshan emphasized that high-quality materials must come first, and superior batteries require premium materials. Currently, China's annual silane production stands at 600,000 to 550,000 tons. He noted that following supply-side reforms, some domestic photovoltaic production capacity will be reduced, indicating a shift toward silicon-carbon anode materials. "Silicon-carbon anode materials cost 750,000 yuan per ton, but we will quickly drive prices down to make them viable for electric vehicles and energy storage applications," he said.

Additionally, Zhu discussed ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), stating that outdated models are no longer sustainable. Growth strategies reliant solely on resource inputs, scale expansion, and low-price competition are increasingly untenable. Many industries no longer face a simple cycle where "winter inevitably gives way to spring," but rather a permanent shift in the economic climate. He stressed, "Merely enduring is not enough. Entrepreneurs must uphold the spirit of relentless innovation."
