Tianjin Port Launches Two New Southeast Asia Container Routes Covering Five Countries

Deep News11-04

On the afternoon of November 4th, the "Chang Sheng" vessel, loaded with fresh pears, dairy products, and engineering machinery, departed from Tianjin Port's Eurasia International Container Terminal bound for Surabaya and Jakarta in Indonesia. This marks the official launch of a new Southeast Asia route jointly operated by Evergreen Marine, Yang Ming Marine Transport, and Wan Hai Lines at Tianjin Port.

On the same day, the "Diego" vessel of MSC's Southeast Asia Sambar route also set sail from Tianjin Port, adding two new Southeast Asia routes to the port's network.

The jointly operated route primarily connects China with Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, while the Southeast Asia Sambar route links Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. These new routes provide shippers with more convenient direct access, effectively reducing maritime transportation time.

Tianjin Port stated that the simultaneous opening of these two new container routes enhances the port's international route network and increases service frequency to Southeast Asia, strengthening shipping and trade exchanges between North China, Northeast China, and Southeast Asia.

In the first three quarters of this year, Tianjin Port Group handled 385 million tons of cargo, a 1.6% year-on-year increase, and 18.92 million TEUs of container throughput, up 3.2% year-on-year.
