Xiaomi's CEO Reveals Proprietary Titan Alloy for Gigacasting Technology

Deep News02-10 20:31

Xiaomi Group's founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun stated during a live broadcast that Xiaomi's electric vehicles utilize integrated gigacasting, which offers several advantages. The primary benefits include significantly shorter processing time, as the method replaces over 70 traditional parts with a single casting, and enhanced strength and safety. However, Lei also noted that the main drawback is higher cost.

Lei Jun mentioned that the material used in Xiaomi's super gigacasting is called Xiaomi Titan Alloy, which was developed independently by Xiaomi. The entire equipment zone and casting island are also self-developed by the company. The casting machine was manufactured by Haitian Casting under Xiaomi's commission, and the technology has undergone appraisal and review.
