CLP HOLDINGS Reports 3.2% Year-on-Year Increase in Electricity Sales Volume for Q1 2026

Deep News05-18

During the first quarter of 2026, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) recorded a 3.2% year-on-year increase in electricity sales volume, reaching 7.319 billion kilowatt-hours. This growth was primarily driven by the sustained positive momentum of the Hong Kong economy, which boosted electricity demand across most sectors. Electricity sales to data centers saw a significant rise of 11.1% year-on-year, reflecting the continued increase in demand for artificial intelligence and digital services. However, electricity sales to residential customers experienced a decline, mainly attributed to milder winter weather and an increase in Hong Kong residents traveling abroad during holiday periods.
