Stock News11:16

TENCENT has issued a statement regarding Apple's decision to lower commission rates for its App Store on mobile and tablet operating systems in China. The company stated that it has observed Apple's adjustment to its App Store commission policy in China, a move vigorously promoted by regulatory authorities, which has energized the industry. This change demonstrates a response to and respect for the voices of Chinese users and the vast developer community, representing a positive signal for the healthy development of the digital ecosystem. For TENCENT and all developers, this will usher in a more open and mutually beneficial platform environment, conducive to stimulating innovation and promoting the sustained prosperity of the technology application ecosystem. Benefiting from this, TENCENT will continue to work with all partners to provide users with better products and services.

According to Apple's developer website, the standard commission rate for in-app purchases and paid apps will be reduced from the current 30% to 25%. For eligible in-app purchases under Apple's App Store Small Business Program and the Mini Apps Partner Program, as well as the commission rate for auto-renewable subscriptions after the first year, the rate will be lowered from the current 15% to 12%. These adjusted commission rates will take effect on March 15, 2026, and do not require developers to re-sign agreements. Apple stated that it is committed to maintaining fair and transparent terms for all developers and will continue to offer App Store rates for developers distributing apps in China that are competitive and no higher than the overall rate levels in other markets.
