U.S. Uses B-1 Bomber Against IRGC Targets, Signaling Escalation

Axios reported Tuesday the U.S. military deployed a B-1 long‑range bomber to strike Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets — the first B-1 mission since hostilities restarted 12 days ago.

The B-1 can carry 24 2,000‑lb bombs or dozens of cruise missiles; its use marks a notable expansion of U.S. operations amid stepped-up regional deployments. Trump is reportedly considering resuming large-scale operations against Iran.

CENTCOM's statement on Tuesday's strikes did not mention the B-1. Specific targets and whether the strike was more effective than recent attacks remain unclear.

Russian media on the 23rd quoted an Iranian military source saying Iran has war‑gamed multiple US attack scenarios and is prepared to repel a US ground invasion.

The source said Iran has prepared multiple response plans for any new US strikes, especially if Washington were to launch a ground invasion, and warned another US strike on Iranian nuclear sites or infrastructure would draw a response "beyond US expectations."

It added President Trump’s threats only prompt Iranian forces to raise readiness to resist a possible invasion.
