Recently, the "Warm Care for New Employment Groups" service event, jointly organized by the Guannan County Party Committee Organization Department, Social Work Department, and County Trade Union, was held at the Huize "New Home" Party-Mass Service Center in Guannan County, Lianyungang. Over 80 representatives from new employment sectors such as couriers, ride-hailing drivers, and live-streamers participated in the event.
The event aimed to address the urgent challenges faced by new employment groups in their work and daily lives, fostering a social atmosphere of respect and care for these workers. It sought to enhance their sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security in a more sustainable manner.
On-site, volunteers provided health services such as blood pressure and glucose monitoring while offering professional health consultations. Legal rights, labor protection, and women's rights pamphlets were distributed, with volunteers explaining key policies to ensure participants fully understood their benefits.
Participants also toured the Huize "New Home" Party-Mass Service Center, which offers amenities like rest areas, drinking water stations, charging facilities, and a reading corner—each detail reflecting a warm, welcoming environment. "It's so thoughtful—somewhere to rest, drink water, and charge my phone!" exclaimed courier Mr. Wang, touching the comfortable seating.
Later, representatives attended a special session screening educational videos on traffic accident prevention, anti-domestic violence laws, and Project Hope. Real-life cases and straightforward explanations left a deep impression. "As someone always on the road, the traffic safety video was a wake-up call. I’ll be more cautious," said truck driver Mr. Zhang.
The event concluded with the distribution of "Warm Care Gift Packs" provided by local organizations and businesses. Moving forward, Guannan County will continue refining services for new employment groups, strengthening support networks to enhance their sense of belonging and contribute to the county's high-quality economic and social development.
