BGI Group Disputes U.S. Defense Department's Inclusion on Military List, Citing No Basis

Deep News06-12

On June 11th, BGI Group issued an official statement responding to its inclusion, along with related companies, on a list of Chinese military companies by the United States Department of Defense.

The company stated that it is a private entity, neither a Chinese military-industrial enterprise nor a military-civil fusion enterprise. It emphasized its strict adherence to laws and regulations globally and its commitment to broad cooperation with international partners, asserting that its listing is entirely without foundation.

BGI Group stressed that the U.S. Defense Department's action is completely inconsistent with objective facts and lacks any factual basis. The company declared it will employ all necessary diplomatic and communication channels to protect its legitimate rights and interests.

It is reported that BGI, founded in 1999, operates under an integrated model of industry, academia, and research in genomics, applying cutting-edge multi-omics scientific achievements to fields including medical health, resource preservation, and forensic services.
