On April 6, the studio representing actor Deng Wei released an official statement addressing a serious issue. The studio confirmed it has become aware of unauthorized short videos, specifically "AI short dramas," circulating on various online platforms. These videos use synthetically generated likenesses of Mr. Deng Wei without permission, constituting a severe infringement of his portrait rights and reputation rights.

The statement emphatically clarified that Mr. Deng Wei has never participated in or authorized the production or distribution of any such content. In response, the studio has engaged legal counsel to initiate evidence preservation procedures related to these infringements and will pursue all available legal avenues to hold responsible parties accountable. The studio has also issued a formal demand for relevant platforms and users to immediately remove and cease the dissemination of all infringing material.

The statement underscored that the internet is not a lawless space and affirmed the studio's commitment to taking serious and continuous action to protect Mr. Deng Wei's rights and resist such violations. It also called on the public to help maintain a healthy and civilized online environment by respecting the legal rights of all creators.
