Smart exoskeleton and smart glasses online retail sales surge 458.4% and 151.7% respectively in first half of the year

According to the E-commerce Department of the Ministry of Commerce, during the first half of the year, the department actively promoted innovative development in e-commerce, integrating online and offline channels to unleash consumption potential.

Digital and intelligent transformation is empowering various industries to upgrade and transform, while the "Silk Road E-commerce" initiative is enhancing international economic and trade cooperation, helping to strengthen and expand the real economy.

The Ministry of Commerce is driving amendments to the E-commerce Law of the People's Republic of China, balancing promotion and regulation, as well as domestic and international aspects, to further improve the legal environment for e-commerce development.

Supporting the real economy

A guiding opinion on better serving the real economy and promoting high-quality e-commerce development has been issued, leveraging the role of e-commerce to better consolidate and strengthen the foundation of the real economy. National e-commerce demonstration bases are being established to play a leading and radiating role.

Stimulating new consumption vitality

Focusing on quality consumption upgrades, the "National Online New Year Shopping Festival" and "Double-Quality Online Shopping Festival" are being held to unleash consumption potential. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, online retail sales of goods nationwide increased by 4.8%, driving a 1.2 percentage point increase in total retail sales of consumer goods.

Smart product growth continues to be impressive. According to monitoring by the Ministry of Commerce, online retail sales of smart exoskeletons and smart glasses surged by 458.4% and 151.7%, respectively. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, online retail sales of services increased by 6.0%. According to Ministry of Commerce monitoring, online sales of tourism and catering increased by 27.2% and 13.9%, respectively.
