Dingdong (Cayman) Limited has announced a major upgrade to its private label strategy, prioritizing resource allocation for its Dingdong V5 brand and other proprietary labels. Unlike previous decentralized exploration by individual business units, the company will now position V5 as a core brand for strategic development. Moving forward, Dingdong plans to concentrate efforts on refining the V5 product line, directing key resources—including core supply chain capabilities, product research and development, quality control, and operational traffic—toward its growth. Support will also be extended across multiple dimensions such as product packaging and user engagement.
As a cross-category private label, Dingdong V5 is set to expand its range of offerings, covering six major categories: SC fresh food (requiring food production permits), grains and condiments, snacks and general merchandise, dairy and beverages, daily refrigerated and frozen items, and baked goods. Compared to earlier versions, this upgrade will introduce alcohol and SC fresh food categories, further diversifying the existing product portfolio.
