China to Auction 150 Billion Yuan in Central Treasury Time Deposits for Q3 2026

The Ministry of Finance and the People's Bank of China have announced a new auction for central treasury cash deposits. The auction, designated as the 11th installment for 2026, is scheduled to take place on the morning of July 20, 2026.

The operation aims to enhance the efficiency of central treasury cash utilization and improve coordination between fiscal and monetary policies. The tender will be conducted via the central bank's dedicated system for treasury time deposit operations.

The total amount for this auction is set at 150 billion yuan. The deposits will have a three-month maturity period.

The value date is set for July 20, 2026, with a maturity date of October 19, 2026. Should the maturity date fall on a public holiday, it will be postponed to the next business day.

The auction will utilize an interest rate bidding mechanism with a single-price award format. It will be open to all qualified banks that participate in the central treasury cash management commercial bank time deposit program.

The entire process will be governed by the established operational procedures and bidding rules for central treasury cash management time deposits, along with other relevant regulations.
