China Merchants Securities Co., Ltd. (06099.HK) announced on Monday, April 20, that its board of directors has resolved to nominate Mr. Tao Wu and Mr. Gao Hong as candidates for non-executive directors of the company's eighth board of directors. The appointments of Mr. Tao and Mr. Gao are subject to formal approval by the company's shareholders through an ordinary resolution at a general meeting. Their terms as non-executive directors will commence from the date the resolution for their appointment is approved by shareholders and will last until the expiry of the eighth board's term. Mr. Tao Wu, aged 59, has served as a full-time external director managed by China Merchants Group since June 2023 and holds director positions in its subsidiaries. He became a director of China Merchants Innovation Investment Management Co., Ltd. in April 2025 and a director of China Merchants Group Finance Co., Ltd. in February 2026. From January 2019 to July 2023, he served as CFO of China Merchants Tongshang Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (now China Merchants Financial Leasing Co., Ltd.). He was a director of China Merchants Energy Shipping (601872.SH) from July 2023 to July 2025, a director of China Merchants Shekou (001979.SZ) from November 2023 to May 2025, and a director of Sinotrans (601598.SH, 00598.HK) from July 2023 to May 2025. He also served as a director of China Merchants Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. from July 2025 to December 2025. Previously, he held various positions at China Merchants Shekou, including head of the internal settlement center in the finance department, senior manager, assistant general manager, deputy general manager of the finance department, deputy general manager of the capital department, senior deputy general manager of the capital department, and general manager of the planning and finance department, finance department, and capital department at Tongshang Financial Leasing, as well as deputy CFO. Mr. Tao obtained a bachelor's degree in economics with a major in finance from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in July 1988.
Mr. Gao Hong, aged 58, served as a director of the company from March 2020 to August 2023. He has been a full-time external director managed by China Merchants Group since April 2025 and holds director positions in its subsidiaries, including a directorship at China Merchants Innovation Investment Management Co., Ltd. since April 2025. From September 2017 to April 2025, he served as deputy general manager of China Merchants Renhe Life Insurance Co., Ltd. He was an executive committee member (standing) of the China Merchants Financial Business Group/Platform from June 2018 to September 2022, and deputy general manager of China Merchants Financial Holding Co., Ltd. from September 2022 to November 2022. He also served as a director of China Merchants Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. from July 2025 to December 2025. Previously, he held roles including director of the software development office in the life insurance computer department, assistant general manager of the life insurance computer department at Ping An Insurance Company of China, assistant general manager of Ping An's Jilin branch, general manager of the computer department at Taiping Life Insurance Co., Ltd., deputy general manager (acting) of the information management department at China Insurance (Holdings) Co., Ltd., assistant general manager of the group shared service center, general manager of the information technology center, general manager of the system R&D department, assistant general manager, and general manager of the innovation and expansion department at Fude Life Insurance Co., Ltd., assistant general manager of Fude Insurance Holdings Co., Ltd., and chief technology officer of China Merchants Financial Group Co., Ltd. Mr. Gao received a bachelor's degree in science with a major in computer software from the Department of Computer Science at Nanjing University in July 1989.
