A 40-year-old Chinese cryptocurrency tycoon has died after falling from the 30th floor of a luxury apartment building in Paraguay, with police investigating the incident since August 7.
The victim was discovered naked, covered by a black plastic bag, beside a handwritten note and several small stones near the ground floor of the building. The security guard heard a loud noise from the first floor in the early morning hours of August 7.
The man, who lived with his partner on the 27th floor and maintained an office on the 30th floor, was found with the office door wide open, according to police reports. The office on the 30th floor is being treated as a key area of interest.
Born in Hong Kong, China, the tycoon immigrated to Canada as a child and later founded a cryptocurrency company in 2013. Prosecutors have requested access to the entire building's surveillance footage and ordered toxicology tests on the body to determine the cause of death.
