Data released on Friday shows that South Korea's industrial output rose month-over-month in June, alongside growth in retail sales and facility investment.
According to Statistics Korea, industrial production in June increased by 2.3% compared to May. Output in the mining and manufacturing sectors, which are core pillars of the South Korean economy, surged by 6.4%, driven by the automotive industry.
Retail sales, which reflect private consumption, rose by 2.7% month-over-month, with durable goods such as automobiles serving as a major driver.
The data also indicates that facility investment jumped by 5.8% month-over-month in June.
