Eni SpA shares surged 5.24% in pre-market trading, following the release of robust second-quarter financial results that exceeded market expectations.
The Italian energy major reported net profit of 1.09 euros per diluted share, significantly above the analyst consensus of 0.70 euros per share. Sales from operations rose to 24.38 billion euros from 18.77 billion euros a year earlier, driven by a strong operational performance across its global gas & LNG, Enilive, and Plenitude divisions.
Adding to the positive sentiment, Eni confirmed a 5% increase in its 2026 dividend to 1.1 euros per share. The company also expanded its share repurchase program for the year to 3.4 billion euros, a 20% increase from the prior guidance, signaling confidence in its cash generation and commitment to returning capital to shareholders.
