To foster a vibrant atmosphere of learning, competition, grassroots focus, and pragmatic implementation, the Xincheng County Convergence Media Center has launched the "Focusing on Grassroots, Emphasizing Implementation" special column. This column systematically showcases innovative measures and practical efforts in key areas such as grassroots organizational development, governance enhancement, specialty industry cultivation, and improvement of people's livelihoods. It aims to continuously guide party members and officials across the county to stay true to their original aspirations, take proactive responsibility, and work diligently, thereby laying a solid foundation and providing strong support for accelerating the construction of a "Beautiful Zhuang Township, Happy Xincheng" and striving to write a new chapter in the high-quality development of Chinese-style modernization in Xincheng.
Recently, 37 newly installed solar streetlights were put into operation in Xiapo Tun, Xiatongle Tun, and Shangtongle Tun of Tongle Village, Guosui Town, Xincheng County. This project is part of the 2026 rural public welfare undertaking financial reward and subsidy program, with 63,800 yuan invested in subsidy funds. The installation includes 25 upright streetlights and 12 wall-mounted streetlights.
Previously, some village roads and alleys in Tongle Village lacked lighting facilities, leaving them pitch black at night. This caused significant inconvenience for villagers traveling, picking up children, and returning late from farm work, while also posing safety hazards.
The expectations of the public are precisely the direction for the work of the village's two committees and the resident work team. To address the shortcomings in infrastructure, the village actively applied for the rural public welfare undertaking financial reward and subsidy project, designating "village lighting" as a key project for practical welfare services. During construction, workers seized favorable weather conditions to complete tasks such as setting out positioning lines, excavating foundation pits, pouring bases, assembling photovoltaic panels, and installing poles with debugging. Village officials closely monitored the project progress, and when difficulties arose in erecting poles, the village's two committee members and the resident work team worked together to resolve them, ensuring the smooth advancement of the project.
The newly installed solar streetlights adopt an integrated design of "photovoltaic panels plus LED lamp heads plus batteries," automatically storing energy during the day and illuminating at night. They require no cable laying and consume no conventional electricity, making them both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly while reducing long-term operational costs.
Luo Chenglong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongle Village, stated that during the five-year warranty period, villagers can serve as supervisors. If any issues with the streetlights are found, they can directly report to the village committee or the construction party, ensuring that the lights are well-built, functional, and durable, truly delivering public welfare services that meet the needs of the masses.
With the streetlights now shining, the nighttime travel conditions for villagers have noticeably improved. "In the past, I had to carry a flashlight when going out at night. Now with the streetlights on, the whole village is bright," villager Fan expressed with emotion. Villager Lan also noted that returning home late through the alleys is no longer frightening. The public cultural square has also become livelier at night, making it more convenient for neighbors to visit each other.
Looking forward, Tongle Village will continue to focus on addressing the urgent needs and concerns of the masses, persistently improving infrastructure such as roads and lighting, enhancing the livability of the countryside, and increasing villagers' sense of gain and happiness.
