Shares of Kingboard HLDG surged 5.17% during intraday trading on Wednesday, leading gains in the printed circuit board (PCB) sector.
The rally was primarily driven by a wave of price increases across the copper-clad laminate (CCL) industry. Kingboard's subsidiary, Guangdong Kingboard Laminates Sales Co., Ltd., issued a formal notice raising prices for FR-4 copper-clad laminates and prepreg by 10%, effective immediately. This move follows similar price hike communications from other major high-end CCL suppliers.
Analysts attribute the strong pricing power to surging demand from AI computing cluster buildouts, which require high-speed interconnects and high-density integration. The CCL, as the core substrate of PCBs, is a direct beneficiary. The supply-demand imbalance for high-end CCL is projected to persist for several years, sustaining the sector's growth momentum.
